<div class="description">

<p>Marianne Corvellec is a data scientist, software developer, and

teacher. Her technical interests include data science workflows, data

visualization, and best practices from testing to documenting. She

holds a PhD in statistical physics from Ecole Normale Supérieure de

Lyon.</p>

<p>Since 2013, she has been a regular speaker and contributor

in the Python, Carpentries, and FLOSS communities. Notably, she

co-founded the <a href="https://www.meetup.com/PyLadiesMTL">PyLadies Montréal</a>

Meetup; she used to maintain <a href="https://github.com/ropensci/plotly">Plotly's R API</a>; she has promoted <a href="http://ivory.idyll.org/blog/2017-digital-commons-funding.html">open</a> <a href="https://github.com/mkcor/exp-testing">science</a> on various occasions.</p>

<p>She has worked with several startups (Plot.ly, 1science.com,

PlanHub.ca, ... and now QuantStack). Marianne remained jobless for

most of 2018, spending twelve weeks at the <a href="https://www.recurse.com/">Recurse Center</a>. She was thus able to carry out some <a href="https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1994-3581">independent research</a>.
