[Bug] Claude Code shows "Not Configured" while MCP is registered and connected #1397
Description
What happened?
MCP for Unity v10.2.0, Unity 6, Windows 11
Claude Code v2.1.269, HTTP Local transport
The plugin window shows "Not Configured" for Claude Code, but
/mcp in Claude Code lists UnityMCP as connected with 48 tools
(local scope, project C:\Unity projects\gmtk remaster).
Status read-back seems out of sync with the actual config.
Reproduction steps
- Start Server (HTTP Local), select Claude Code as the client, click Configure - indicator turns green
- Restart Claude Code, run /mcp - UnityMCP is listed as connected, 48 tools
- Go back to the MCP for Unity window - indicator is red "Not Configured" again
Connection itself works fine; tools are usable. Only the status indicator is wrong.

Thanks for raising @cRoxx666. A bit random, if you create a project without a space in the name - does it still show the incorrect status for Claude Code's configuration? I haven't gotten into the weeds of it, but that confirmation might eliminate some possibilities

C:\Unity projects\shiftjam2026: the status stays Configured and doesn't reset. So the issue seems to be the space in the project folder name.Scriptwonder commentedon Oct 4, 2026
Can you test the latest beta to see? I think currently the way it works is you have to reset the claude code or restart it to get the mcp work.
