Missing resource icons in DevTools Network panel #432
In Edge DevTools, the request-type/file-type icons that used to appear on the left side of entries in the Network panel's Name column are missing.
Actual behavior
Icons for resource types are not displayed in the Name column
Requests still load normally
Status / Type / Size / Time columns are displayed correctly
Only the icons are missing
Expected behavior
The Network panel should display the corresponding resource-type icon for each request in the Name column.
Steps to reproduce
Open Edge
Open DevTools with F12
Go to the Network panel
Refresh a page
Observe that the icons to the left of the Name column entries are missing
Affected resource examples
.json
.css
.svg
favicon.ico
Notes
This looks like a UI rendering/styling issue rather than a request-loading issue. (I know the icon used to be there in previous years.).
This makes debugging much more difficult for me. When I need to find a specific request, I have to rely on the often long and cluttered file-name suffixes to identify its type, which significantly reduces the efficiency of locating and filtering requests.
Attachment
See attached screenshot. Inedge other browser(like chrome)
I can reproduce this issue as well. Edge is my primary browser, and the missing resource-type icons make network debugging noticeably less convenient.
On the same page, Chrome displays distinct icons next to Fetch/XHR requests and WebSocket connections in the Network panel's Name column, while Edge leaves that area blank.
This is particularly inconvenient when inspecting WebSocket messages: with the request details open, only the Name column is visible in the narrow request list on the left. The icons help distinguish request types at a glance while keeping the Messages tab open. Showing the Type column in the full table or switching between type filters does not fully replace that workflow.
I remember these icons being visible in older versions of Edge, although I cannot identify the exact version where they disappeared.
Current installed environment (checked on September 29, 2026):
OS: Windows 11 25H2, 64-bit (build 26200.9457)
Edge: 154.0.4258.37
Chrome: 154.0.8037.58
I've attached screenshots of Edge and Chrome for comparison. Internal URLs, request names, identifiers, and message payloads have been covered with opaque gray patterned masks for privacy. The request-type icon area has been left unchanged.
Could the team please investigate restoring these icons and share any available workaround or update on a fix? Thank you.

请问你解决了吗,现在最新版还是没有

还没有,主要的调试工作还得是chrome,edge就先搁着吧(本来就是作为日常浏览器用的)
