When using WANT_SOURCE_INSTALL=1, sys/unix/setup.sh always sets $PREFIX to $(NHSROOT), and consequently make all/make install builds NetHack for $(PREFIX)/playground location.
It would be nice to be able to manually pass PREFIX for a different location.
Currently this can be achieved by creating make.prefs to override as per the below example:
WANT_SOURCE_INSTALL = 1
PREFIX = /home/user/.local/share/nethack
HACKDIR = /home/user/.local/share/nethack
INSTDIR = /home/user/.local/share/nethack
VARDIR = /home/user/.local/share/nethack
I guess if PREFIX is passed to sys/unix/setup.sh it should set all of the above to that value so that this can work for macOS.500 and linux.500 configs.
