🔄 Replace Field in Field Layout (like changing field types) #17893

Definitely some overlap! Both behaviors would be great. I've run into that same scenario as well where I need to change a default value or something similar.

In this instance, I don't necessarily want to clone, I want to swap to an entirely different field. But I do want to retain the data just like the other example.

Maybe a combo of sorts: 🔄 Replace (select a field, create a new field, or clone the current field)

Seems I had the same idea as you @ryanleichty on #18024

My thought was that swapping a field like this would essentially automatically handle the necessary migration all in one go.
