"Target PlayCanvas Engine 2.x. Check the installed version in package.json and prefer the current API at https://api.playcanvas.com/engine/ over 1.x patterns.",
"Import the engine as an ES module: `npm install playcanvas` with a bundler, or an import map pointing 'playcanvas' at https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/playcanvas/+esm with no build step.",
"Build scenes from Entity objects with addComponent('render' | 'camera' | 'light' | 'script' | ...). Prefer the render component over the legacy model component.",
"For primitives use addComponent('render', { type: 'box' | 'sphere' | 'capsule' | 'cylinder' | 'cone' | 'plane' }). For GLB models load a 'container' asset and call asset.resource.instantiateRenderEntity().",
"Load assets through app.assets: create an Asset(name, type, { url }), add it with app.assets.add(), then app.assets.load() or AssetListLoader for batches. Wait for the 'load' event before reading asset.resource.",
"Coordinate system is right-handed and Y-up. Entity.forward is the local negative Z axis and cameras look down negative Z. setEulerAngles, rotate and rotateLocal take degrees, not radians.",
"Color components are floats from 0 to 1. After changing StandardMaterial properties call material.update().",
"Run per-frame logic in app.on('update', dt => ...) or a script's update(dt), where dt is seconds. Do not allocate Vec3, Quat, Mat4 or Color inside per-frame code; reuse module-scope temporaries.",
"Write scripts as ESM classes extending Script with a static scriptName and attributes declared as class fields tagged /** @attribute */. Classic pc.createScript() is supported but legacy. Never mix the two styles in one file.",
"Create the graphics device with createGraphicsDevice(canvas, { deviceTypes: ['webgpu', 'webgl2'] }) and pass it through AppOptions to AppBase. Code must work on both WebGL2 and WebGPU; do not call WebGL or WebGPU APIs directly.",
"For a resizable full-window canvas call app.setCanvasFillMode(FILLMODE_FILL_WINDOW), app.setCanvasResolution(RESOLUTION_AUTO) and app.resizeCanvas() on the window resize event.",
"Physics needs ammo.js: call WasmModule.setConfig('Ammo', { glueUrl, wasmUrl, fallbackUrl }) and wait for WasmModule.getInstance('Ammo', callback) before adding rigidbody or collision components.",
"Set tone mapping and gamma correction on the camera component (camera.toneMapping, camera.gammaCorrection), not globally on the scene.",
"Load Gaussian splats as a 'gsplat' asset and render them with addComponent('gsplat', { asset }).",
"Release resources you create: entity.destroy(), asset.unload(), material.destroy(), texture.destroy(), and app.destroy() when tearing the application down.",
"For React use @playcanvas/react and for declarative HTML use @playcanvas/web-components. Both wrap the same engine objects, so engine API docs still apply.",
"Runnable references: https://playcanvas.com/examples hosts every example in this repo; sources live under examples/src/examples. The user manual is at https://developer.playcanvas.com/user-manual/."
