Overview
Description
Add optional, configurable voice cues to Docker Agent’s multi-agent workflows, so agents can audibly announce when they receive a task, finish their work, or hand control back to the coordinator.
The idea is to make agent orchestration feel like commanding units in Warcraft: assign a task, hear “Yes, milord!”, and get an audible notification when the agent is ready for its next assignment.
Suggested behavior
Allow sound cues to be associated with lifecycle events, with different voice profiles for each agent.
| Event |
Example voice cue |
| An agent starts and becomes available |
“Ready to serve!” |
| The coordinator delegates a task |
“Yes, milord!” |
| An agent begins working |
“On my way!” |
| An agent completes its task |
“Job’s done!” |
| An agent hands control back to the coordinator |
“Awaiting orders!” |
| An agent encounters an error or needs help |
A distinct warning or help-request cue |
Giving each agent a recognizable voice would make it easier to follow who is working, who has finished, and when a handoff occurs—without constantly watching the terminal.
Example workflow
- The coordinator assigns a code implementation task to the developer agent.
- The developer responds with “Yes, milord!” and starts working.
- When the implementation is complete, the developer plays “Job’s done!” and hands control back to the coordinator.
- The coordinator delegates verification to the reviewer agent, which responds with “Ready to serve!”
- The reviewer reports its results and plays its completion cue.
Sounds should accompany the actual orchestration events, not require agents to generate special phrases or trigger audio tools themselves.
Motivation
The goal is both fun and practical: a lightweight audio interface for tracking a team of agents, with the coordinator acting as the player and specialist agents responding like RTS units.
