Thanks for raising this. We are tracking it as an issue and have a fix in progress that adds an in-app "Automatically check for updates" toggle in General settings, so you can disable background update checks without admin rights (manual "Check for updates" still works). Tracking issue: github/github-app#7378 |

Thank you for adding the “Automatically check for updates” setting. This addresses the individual user scenario, but enterprise administrators also need a centrally managed and enforceable option. As an enterprise administrator, I need to disable automatic update checks and automatic installation of updates for the GitHub Copilot app on macOS through an MDM-managed preference or configuration profile. This is required so that we can:

Mac in our company dont have admin rights so I'm looking for a way to disable the automatic update...
I've tried to push the following payload but without success:
com.github.githubapp
Has anyone find a way to disable automatic update?
