"Fix now" button does not solve "A problem has been detected with your thumbnail cache." #3863
After upgrading to Debian 13, Nemo always showed the following error:
A problem has been detected with your thumbnail cache. Fixing it will require administrative privileges.
Fix now | Dismiss
Clicking the "Fix now" button did not help; I entered the root password but nothing was solved.
What solved the problem was manually deleting the thumbnail cache (without root privileges!) at ~/.cache/thumbnails. I'd expect that the "Fix now" button would try that solution.
Steps to reproduce
Open Nemo
See the error
Expected behavior
The "Fix now" button should also try to delete the thumbnail directory at ~/.cache/thumbnails.
Additional information
I can't tell what the actual problem with the thumbnails cache dir was because I deleted it.
This is different from #3447 because that one is for NFS, and the problem reappears. Mine did not reappear.

I had the same problem with a different user and managed to fix it:
Originally, some folders and files were not owned by my user's own group
