Backpack Ruby is a distribution of MRuby binaries and documentation in a simple zipfile that has been built to have few external dependencies outside of the basic OS. The goal is to provide automation and rudimentary development support on and for limited or locked-down environments (e.g. a router or NAS). I've successfully run the ARM build on a low-end Synology NAS.
The binaries are built with the
full-coregembox and a number of third-party gems to provide file, directory, and process access plus regexps, JSON, YAML, digests, and SQLite3.In addition, it includes
monolithso that you can create standalone binaries. The project is here. It is purely a set of build scripts that pull the various sources from other locations.
