Description

Before Submitting

  • I searched open and closed issues and discussions for an existing request.
  • I checked whether this already exists on the dev branch or latest source.
  • I understand that maintainers want a well-written issue or discussion before any code pull request.
  • This request is not a security vulnerability.

Problem

I had my system monitoring a long-running operation by "waking up" hourly with a chat timer to provide a status update. It got confused and ended up with a few overlapping timers that were a minor pain to untangle. Unlike scheduled jobs, timers can't be removed once created.

Desired Behavior

Add a timer deletion function.

Why This Matters

Improved system state control.

    🔍 Related Issues Found

I found some existing issues that might be related. Please check if any of these are duplicates or contain helpful solutions:

    1. 🟣 #31481 issue: failed timer leaves an empty, permanently-pending assistant message in the parent chat
This is the closest timer-related issue found. It concerns timer lifecycle handling in the same scheduling subsystem, though it is specifically about failed timer execution rather than deleting timers.

    2. 🟣 #10496 Chat or Chatgroup fast delete management
This is a general deletion-management request, but for chats/groups rather than timers. It is only loosely related by the broader theme of deletion controls.
