Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my experience applying for the GitHub Student Developer Pack and how I resolved some persistent issues after receiving over 9 auto-rejections. Hopefully, this helps others facing similar challenges!

The Problem:

• The system kept misidentifying my campus location, even though I was physically on campus.
• The verification process only allowed the use of the front camera, which wasn’t working properly.
• Some issues disappeared when I switched browsers but came back later.
• I received over 9 auto-rejections despite providing the correct documentation.

How I Solved It:

1. GitHub Support’s Advice:
   After reaching out to GitHub Support, Emily provided the following guidance:
   
   Emily’s advice on enabling 2FA and updating billing information.

   • Enable two-factor authentication on my GitHub account.
   • Complete my GitHub billing information with my full name exactly as it appears on my academic documents (no payment method needed).
   • Log out and log back into GitHub before reapplying.

2. Camera and Browser Issues:

   • I used a different device with a working front camera for the verification process. If your front camera isn’t working, try borrowing a friend’s device or using a laptop with a built-in camera.
   • I switched to a different browser (from Chrome/Edge to Opera on my mobile), and it worked with the back camera!

3. Location Misidentification:

   • I double-checked my documents and made sure they clearly showed my campus address.
   • After following Emily’s advice, I reapplied, and the issue was resolved.

If you’re still stuck, I highly recommend reaching out to GitHub Support—they were super helpful!

Finally approved after following the steps above!
