Hey, I'm not GitHub staff, so I can't review it, and other users can't either. Only GitHub Education support can do a manual review. Here's what I'd try: Stop reapplying for now. Eight rejections in three days probably won't help. Wait before you try again. |

When we had a quick look it does state that your latest evidence contains keywords indicating that it may be an acceptance letter. Only proof of current academic enrollment is acceptable. We would recommend you try using a screenshot of the portal (again). Also ensure your location is on and accurate (not through a VPN) and you ensure your billing address is current (and also accurate). All applications must go through GitHub Education Benefits Application form. We are unable to provide manual reviews or upload links for individual applicants. |

Thanks for the detailed reply. A few clarifications on my side:
The problem is that to keep the text legible, I have to photograph the screen up close, which means the surrounding context (browser chrome, full page) doesn't fit in frame, and I can't tell if that's part of why it's being flagged. For the record: I'm not using a VPN, and my location and billing address are both accurate. Thanks for looking into it. |

Not staff, but a few things in this thread could still be tripping the checker, and they're all worth fixing before the next try:
your full name, exactly as it appears in your GitHub billing info (no added or missing middle name); A current date visible somewhere on the page helps.

Hello, I am experiencing the same issue. I am currently a student at CNED (Centre National d’Enseignement à Distance) in France. I have submitted and verified all the required information and documents, but I am still unable to complete the student verification process. Unfortunately, the system does not indicate what is wrong with my documents or why my verification is being rejected. Could you please let me know what the issue is and what I need to provide or correct in order to complete the verification successfully? Thank you in advance for your help. |

Here is what is happening with your application and how to resolve it:
Step-by-Step Fix to Get Approved ->
Requesting a Manual Staff Review Because you are on the GitHub Education application workflow, community forum threads or public discussions cannot manually override the verifier or review private student documents for privacy/security reasons. If the live-camera submission of an official paper document fails:

Quick correction on the advice above: that directly contradicts what the
maintainer (samus-aran) already confirmed twice in this same thread, that a
portal screenshot via camera is the correct method for distance learning
students, and that text legibility wasn't the issue on my submissions.
Switching to a physical paper document isn't the fix here.
Also worth noting: @muiafr is reporting the exact same symptom (CNED,
France) with no reason given on rejection. That's two separate schools, two
separate countries, same failure pattern, same automated verifier giving
zero explanation. This looks like a system-side issue rather than something
specific to either of our documents.
Given that, I'd really appreciate if this could get escalated to GitHub
Education support staff directly, since every suggested fix in this thread
has now been tried without success.

Hey @TaoTheReaper, that sounds really frustrating. From what I've seen, the auto-checker struggles most with portal screenshots, so I'd try an actual enrollment letter or transcript instead, with your full name, the school name and the dates clearly visible. Also make sure location is allowed when you apply and that you're not on a VPN, because it compares that against your school. And I'd stop resubmitting for a bit. Fix the document first, then apply once, since spamming it doesn't seem to help. If it still gets rejected after that, I'd contact GitHub Education support directly, because only staff can do a manual review and replies here can't override it. Just don't post your documents or school login stuff in the thread. Hope it gets sorted soon, good luck! 🙌 |

Re-verification/Repeat Application
Hi everyone,
Username: @TaoTheReaper
My student application has been auto-rejected about 8 times (Oct 4–6, 2026). My GitHub profile name and billing name are both "Daniele Taormina", matching my school record. I am an active, enrolled student at Penn Foster High School (enrolled 11 Aug 2026, active through 11 Aug 2029, program: High School Diploma).
The latest rejections give NO specific reason at all — the automated verifier seems unable to read my school portal screenshots. Could a staff member please review my application manually? I can provide any additional proof needed. Thank you.
