We accept distant learning courses but you need to ensure that you accurately share your browser location and that includes not using a VPN as this will indicate a different location. I would suggest you resolve the above first before raising a support ticket, but I'll give you the details below.
We provide dedicated support for Students and Teachers applying for GitHub Education. You should be able to submit a support ticket here |

Adding to @samus-aran's reply, here's what usually gets online and distance students through:
Turn off any VPN, proxy, iCloud Private Relay, or browser privacy extension that hides your location.
your full name, as on your GitHub profile/billing info; One letter like this is easier for the automated check to read than a student ID, fee bill and schedule squeezed into one shot. Hold it flat, in good light, and fill the frame.
Also check that your university email (@leomail.tamuc.edu) is verified under Settings → Emails before you reapply. |

Re-verification/Repeat Application
Hi everyone,
I am an actively enrolled doctoral student at East Texas A&M University and am trying to verify my student status for GitHub Education.
My GitHub username is @ashah24-lang, and I am using my university-issued student email address ashah24@leomail.tamuc.edu. GitHub rejected my most recent application because it couldn't verify my location near the campus; my program and current courses are online. The rejection specifically states that if GitHub's information about my school's campus locations is incomplete or incorrect, I should submit a GitHub Education support ticket using the option "My selected school has incorrect or incomplete information e.g. domains or campus location." The problem is that I cannot follow that instruction. My account is currently on GitHub Free. GitHub's Support documentation states that the option to open a support ticket is only available to accounts using a paid GitHub product or members of organizations using a paid product.
I have provided official documentation demonstrating this, including my current student ID, current university fee bill showing active enrollment, and current class schedule showing that my courses are online. I have attempted the normal GitHub Education verification process multiple times. The live-camera workflow permits a single photograph, making it extremely difficult to capture multiple official documents while keeping the information legible enough for automated verification. Could a GitHub Education staff member please advise how I can securely provide my enrollment documentation for manual review, or how to open the Education support ticket that the rejection email instructs me to submit?
Thank you.
