Multi-Spacecraft Observations of Particle Dynamics in the Inner Heliosphere

Participating journal: Space Science Reviews

This collection presents results from the ISSI BJ Workshop "Multi-Spacecraft Observations and their Importance for Understanding Particle Dynamics in the Inner Heliosphere" held 12 –16 January 2026, and aims to combine the knowledge about possible sources of energetic particles, describes particle characteristics expected from different acceleration mechanisms, and makes critical comparisons with existing observations.

Dr. Linghua Wang is a “Boya” distinguished professor in the school of Earth and Space Sciences at Peking University, China. She obtained her PhD in physics from University of California at Berkeley, USA. She works in the fields of solar, heliospheric and space plasma physics from an experimental perspective, with over 100 publications in the peer-referred scientific journals. Her research aims at understanding the origin, acceleration and transport processes of solar energetic particles, solar wind suprathermal particles, and energetic neutral atoms. She received the China Young Female Scientist Award in 2015 and AAPPS-DDP young research award in 2017. She serves as an associate editor of JGR-space physics, science committee member of the International Space Science Institute (ISSI), and ST section president of AOGS. She is also the Co-I for the Energetic Particle Detector (EPD) onboard Solar Orbiter and for the Mercury Plasma Particle Experiment (MPPE) onboard BepiColombo/MMO.
