ACEX2026. Rational design of advanced nanomaterials for structural applications

Participating journal: Emergent Materials

Traditional engineering materials such as metals have increasingly approached their performance limits in many critical applications. The global push for improved efficiency and sustainability in engineering practices further intensifies this limitation. A promising path forward lies in the exploration and adoption of nanomaterials, which offer exceptional properties and novel functionalities.

Since the early breakthroughs in carbon nanotubes, the field of nanomaterials has rapidly expanded, revealing a wide array of unique characteristics that can be harnessed for structural innovations. This Special Issue aims to highlight recent advances in the development and application of nanomaterials specifically designed for load-bearing structures and devices.

We invite original research and reviews on topics including, but not limited to:

Key Topics for Submission:

1. Carbon nanotubes

2. Graphene

3. Nano silica

4. Nano clay

5. Nanoparticles

6. Metal nanoparticles

7. Nanocomposites

8. Nanostructured coatings

The special issue is open for submission to ACEX2026 participants and invited authors. All submissions must follow the journal's manuscript submission guidelines and should be submitted via Editorial Manager® under the article type name "ACEX2026. Rational design of advanced nanomaterials for structural applications". The submission deadline for this Special Issue is 31st December 2026.
