Computational and Applied Mathematics

Computational and Applied Mathematics (COAM) is the main scientific journal of the Brazilian Society of Computational and Applied Mathematics (SBMAC). Founded in 1981, it publishes original research in computational and applied mathematics, emphasizing mathematical depth, methodological rigor, computational relevance, and meaningful applications.

The journal covers areas such as applied mathematical analysis, control theory and partial differential equations, discrete mathematics, mathematical modelling, numerical linear algebra, optimization and operations research, probability and stochastic methods, and numerical analysis.

COAM welcomes theoretical, computational, and application-oriented contributions that offer clear originality, relevance, and sound methodology. Manuscripts should go beyond routine applications or incremental numerical experiments and clearly demonstrate their mathematical, computational, modelling, or application-driven contribution.
