Build with AI or code, deploy instantly on a platform built for agent experience (AX).

About us

Start, build and ship full-stack apps on the platform built for agent experience (AX). AI makes it easy to generate code. The harder part comes next. Getting changes live. Keeping systems stable. Understanding what broke when something doesn’t behave as expected. That challenge grows as updates happen faster and more often. That’s the gap we’re closing. Netlify brings the whole development workflow into one platform. Start, ship, build, run, all in the same place. Builders and agents move from idea to production quickly, without losing context. We coined this agent experience (AX), a shared workflow where humans and AI agents work side by side, taking responsibility for shipping quality software. We bring together modern web frameworks, serverless functions, edge computing and managed Postgres in one platform. Leading AI coding agents like Claude Code, Codex CLI and Gemini CLI come built in. The result is an unmatched user experience for anyone who builds with AI. More than 14 million builders use Netlify, from solo developers and vibe coders to Fortune 100 companies and teams at Figma, Mattel, and Riot Games.

  • Dana and the team spent Wednesday night with Barcelona's AI builders at La Fabrica &Co. Thanks to HackBarna, Happy Operators and Matt Roberts for organizing, and to everyone who came out!

Last night Netlify's CTO and CPO spent their Wednesday night with Barcelona's sharpest AI builders It was a blast and grateful to Netlify sharing their time with us The bit I'm still thinking about: They're convinced the web is about to get a lot more creative. More people building things. New kinds of users who'd never call themselves developers. And they're ready for it. You could tell. Then we got onto the harder question. How do you keep up when the tools change every week? Where we landed: 📍 Stay curious. Play with stuff before you need it. 📍 Keep learning, ideally with other people. 📍 Don't let the tech swamp you. Nobody knows every tool. 📍 Be human. Ask the question. Talk to the person next to you. 📍 Get ok with open source, it's part of the story So, what are you playing with right now that you don't need yet? Big thanks to Netlify for joining HackBarna and Happy Operators in Barcelona at La Fabrica &Co in Poblenou. And with bad ass support from my crew Judith Biosca Surià Gonzalo Lebron de Chazal Andres Sepulveda Morales 🇵🇷 Rafa Romero and photos from my main guy Pol Ducamp Sabates And great to finally meet Vanessa Ramos, Wade Wegner, Dana Lawson and the whole team. One day we will hang Karthik Puvvada 😍 ps. we've got future sessions lined up with other innovators in tech, but who would YOU like to chat with? I'll add a link to our calendar in the comments

  • What can you build in an hour? Richard Terry-Lloyd showed Karthik Puvvada a sales dashboard he had built that morning to track bookings, pipeline, churn, hot leads, and forecasts. It's interactive, links directly into Salesforce reports and Notion docs, and lets him switch between monthly and quarterly views. The point wasn't just how quickly it came together. It was that the people closest to the work can now build the tools they need, tailor them to their own workflows, and keep improving them over time.

  • The build versus buy conversation isn't going away. The criteria are changing. In this conversation, Richard Terry-Lloyd explains how Netlify approaches that decision. Some tools are worth building. Others are worth buying because they help the team move faster and already fit the way people work. The goal isn't to build everything. It's to spend your time building the things that create the most value while letting great tools handle the rest.

  • Same prompt. Four models. No names until the reveal. A new frontier model drops almost every week, and everyone has a favorite. The question that matters is which one does the best work for the job you actually do. This Thursday, Karthik Puvvada and Tania Chakraborty are putting that to the test, live and blind. We'll run the newest models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Mistral on real community and social tasks, from a nudge to a quiet superfan to a scroll-stopping launch hook. Every output shows up unlabeled, and the names only come out after the votes are in. Behind the scenes, every model runs through Netlify AI Gateway. That's one app and one setup, and swapping in a different model takes seconds, with no new keys and nothing to rewire. If you know your field cold and want to see which model actually earns its place in your work, come judge with us! Thursday, October 8, 12pm ET https://luma.com/0f036rrt

  • Gemini Nano Banana 2.1 is in AI Gateway, which means image generation now works from a Netlify Function with no API keys to configure. The example in the changelog is a complete Function. It reads a prompt from the query string, sets aspect ratio and image size in the config, pulls the inline image data out of the response, and returns the bytes with the correct content type. Calls work from Scheduled, Background, and Edge Functions too, and they pick up Netlify's caching, rate limiting, and authentication. https://lnkd.in/gEfGvn6T

  • Mathias is speaking at Claude Founder House in SF, which kicks off today. The registration link is in the comments on Veronica's post if you're in town. Say hi to him if you make it!

The Claude Startups program is expanding. Founders who join can get up to $7,000 in Claude products and credits, including a free year of Claude Team for companies new to Team. They also get $1,000 in API credits as soon as they’re approved, so they can start building right away. Members can also work through technical problems with our Applied AI team, and learn alongside other founders at events like Founder House. Startups founded in the last five years or funded in the last two can apply. Read more: https://lnkd.in/e_wZECde

  • Great recap from KP. If you're on Svelte, look at SvelteKit 3. You get day-one support, and npx sv migrate sveltekit-3 moves the config for you. The rest is at netlify.com/changelog.

ICYMI: Here’s what Netlify shipped recently ⤵️ • SvelteKit 3 works on Netlify on day one (Vite 8 builds powered by Rolldown, one command to migrate) • GPT-6.1 Sol is live in AI Gateway and Agent Runners, zero config • Sites built with Agent Runners now get rich link previews (screenshot, title, description) when you share them • Trust Center moved into the dashboard, so anyone signed in on any plan can see our certs and subprocessor list • Security notes on the new Next.js (patched in 15.5.27 and 16.3.8) and TanStack Start vulnerabilities, with what Netlify customers should do

  • Netlify is returning to Barcelona tomorrow, Wednesday, October 7, in collaboration with HackBarna and Happy Operators. Here's the evening: a live Agent Runners demo from Netlify PM Vanessa Ramos, a fireside chat with CTO Dana Lawson and CPO Wade Wegner on where the web is heading, then an open mixer with drinks, snacks, and the Netlify crew. Every attendee will walk away with 3,000 Netlify credits and swag. Bring your hardest question for the panel! RSVP: https://luma.com/3xawjg1c

  • Netlify Edge Functions now run on compute inside our own network, which changes what we can build next. The documented limits of 50ms of CPU per request, 512MB of memory, and 20MB of compressed code came from the isolate execution model. Those are on the table now. npm packages already work in Edge Functions in beta, with caveats around native binaries and importing files at runtime. A real VM with a real filesystem removes most of the reasons those caveats exist. https://lnkd.in/gTpsxN7a

  • Mathias Biilmann Christensen's talk from WeAreDevelopers is up. It's the case for Agent Experience as its own discipline, and for why software engineering matters more rather than less as the tools change. Thanks to the WeAreDevelopers team for hosting it!

In 2025, Netlify made a deliberate shift in product direction: from Developer Experience to what Mathias Biilmann, CEO & Co-founder of Netlify, calls Agent Experience — AX. In this talk he lays out the emerging AX discipline, how it lets domain experts become the next generation of software developers, and why software engineering stays essential even as the tools and workflows around it change completely.
