Oprah Winfrey is branching out beyond traditional media to give her fans an “immersive experience.”
“I feel that it is the culmination of everything I’ve tried to say for years,” Winfrey said in an exclusive interview with People magazine, introducing her two-hour live show, which will run from April 2-4 next year. “It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in a way that allows you to feel connected to yourself, but also to everybody else who’s there,” the author said.
“I’m calling it AHA for a reason. From the moment you come into the Sphere in Las Vegas, you will be filled with awe and wonder, and you will leave with a great sense of joy,” she said, adding that viewers will “leave with a very good feeling about what your life is, what it can be, and the potential for the future for you and for all of us. That’s the idea.”
Winfrey’s website goes further, calling the experience “a visual and musical symphony of senses created by a global collective of musicians, artists and storytellers designed to inspire wonder, joy, and the ultimate ‘AHA.’”
Among the “experiences” ― which Winfrey’s “AHA” site says will include dance, poetry, light and joy ― there will also be performances from musicians Ajeet and Jacob Collier, as well as poet Ocean Vuong. The media mogul also said there will be special guests at each performance.
Ticket prices for “AHA” will start at $145 and go on sale Sept. 25.
Prior to Winfrey taking the stage, the Sphere will host screenings of The Wizard of Oz as well as performances by Eagles, Metallica and the Backstreet Boys.
