Techlore runs on Proton, and making our hardening video meant going through every setting on our business account. Here are four things many people miss, and two of them aren't settings at all: 1️⃣ Strong MFA. An authenticator app is the baseline. Two+ security keys is better. But you can now disable the authenticator app entirely and use keys only, which is the strongest version. That wasn't possible when keys first launched in Proton 2️⃣ Turn on Proton Sentinel, their account-protection feature. Handy side effect of step 1: with 2FA enabled, Sentinel is less likely to flag your own logins as suspicious if you're constantly on VPNs or switching browsers. 3️⃣ Plan recovery now, not later. Because Proton is encrypted, recovering your account and recovering your data are two separate problems. Password reset options get you back in, but without the recovery files you can't get the data. I found this out the hard way...that's a story for another post. 4️⃣ Change how you send email. You can send an encrypted, password-protected message to any address, including Gmail. The recipient needs the password to open it, so send that over Signal or anything that isn't email. Full walkthrough with the rest of the settings, and a thank you to Proton for partnering with us on this one: https://lnkd.in/gbKWz5J9
