  • As the UN marks its 81st year, procurement is evolving too. Through the UN80 Initiative, UN Organizations are working more closely together, reducing duplication and increasing joint procurement, creating a more connected and efficient UN procurement system. For suppliers, one thing remains especially important ➡️ finding opportunities early. In 2025, the UN spent $22.7 billion on goods and services. Yet procurement opportunities can move quickly: 🔹 1 in 4 close within 10 days 🔹 Half close within 15 days 🔹 3 in 4 close within 22 days With UNGM Pro, suppliers can receive a daily digest of opportunities matching their categories and countries, save searches, set default criteria and manage opportunities more efficiently. 🎉 To celebrate UN Day, get 40% off UNGM Pro until 27 October, midnight UTC: https://lnkd.in/eA4znpyH #UN80 #UNGMPro #UNDay #UN80Initiative

  • I already have a supplier account, but I am interested in a call for individual consultants by the International Labour Organization. Can I create a new account? Yes! You can have more than one UNGM account if you meet the requirements for each type. 🔹 Supplier account – for businesses providing goods or services to UN Organizations. 🔹 Individual Consultant account – for individuals interested in consultancy opportunities. 🔹 Implementing Partner account – for organizations seeking to work with UN Organizations as implementing partners. 💡 Important: Register each account with a different email address (which serves as the username) and a distinct licence/registration/tax number. If the Express Interest button is disabled for an opportunity, hover over the button to see why you cannot express interest. Always check the Type of opportunity column to make sure you are using the appropriate account type. 👉 Explore various tenders published on UNGM by using the filters on the Procurement Opportunity page: https://lnkd.in/gxMgrqa #SupplierRegistration #VendorRegistration #IndividualConsultant #ImplementingPartner

It is my pleasure to have been part of the organizing committee for IPS Jordan 2026. The United Nations International Procurement Seminar took place in Amman on 5–6 October with the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the representation of the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply. The seminar brought together companies and procurement officers from United Nations organizations. Over two days participants gained insights into UN procurement procedures for goods and services learned what it takes to become a supplier and understood the process from registration to tender submission. Alongside sessions and workshops one-on-one meetings gave companies the chance to present themselves ask questions and discuss collaborations directly with UN procurement officers. In my view the rewarding part was seeing Jordanian companies actively engage in these conversations and showcase the capabilities of Jordan to the global stage. This event served as a platform that could help companies take the next steps toward working with the United Nations. As an organizer the ‏Amman Chamber of Industry - غرفة صناعة عمّان‏ made it possible for me to be part of the team preparing for the event and coordinating all efforts in partnership, with The ‏The United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM)‏ What I am most proud of is the team itself. It was a group that worked well together, even under difficult conditions. We made adjustments, adapted quickly, and put in long hours over many days. I am proud of everything we accomplished. I am especially proud of the team we built during this event. #IPSJordan2026 #IPS2026 #UNGM #UNProcurement #AmmanChamberOfIndustry

Procurement: a strategic enabler of the UN mandate When resources are stretched, every procurement decision matters. Today’s UN Supply Chain Awards 2026 recognised teams putting this principle into practice across the UN system. As agencies are asked to do more with less, their work demonstrates how innovative and sustainable procurement can deliver cost savings, strengthen resilience and improve outcomes for the people they serve. I was pleased to serve as a member of the evaluation panel alongside colleagues with experience in senior UN procurement roles, private sector leadership, academia, and procurement and supply chain advisory work. The awards celebrate excellence across four categories: 🌱 Sustainable Procurement and Supply 🤝 Collaborative Procurement and Supply 💡 Procurement and Supply Chain Innovation 📚 Capacity Development in Procurement and Supply The Sustainable Procurement and Supply category deserves particular attention. Across the five shortlisted projects, several practical approaches stood out: • Looking beyond the purchase price: considering life-cycle costs, investing in renewable energy and energy efficiency, and incorporating maintenance and performance requirements to deliver lasting operational savings. • Creating local economic and social value: engaging local suppliers and workers, protecting decent working conditions, developing maintenance skills and involving communities in delivery. • Making better use of existing resources: reusing infrastructure and materials, converting aid pallets into classroom furniture, and using designs that reduce energy and material needs. • Building resilience into procurement: engaging suppliers early, adapting specifications to local conditions, phasing delivery and reducing dependence on diesel to help sustain essential services in difficult operating environments. Together, these practices demonstrate how sustainable procurement can deliver cost savings, stronger local capabilities and greater operational resilience while advancing environmental and social objectives. 🏆 Special congratulations to the UNRWA procurement team and its project partner for winning the Sustainable Procurement and Supply award for the 3-megawatt Solar Wheeling Power Plant project in Jordan. Supplying renewable electricity through the national grid to 114 facilities, the project is expected to generate more than USD 31 million in savings over 20 years, helping sustain essential services for Palestine refugees. Congratulations to all the winning and shortlisted teams. The awards provide a valuable platform to recognise their work across all four categories, share practical lessons across agencies and demonstrate how procurement enables the United Nations to fulfil its vital mandates around the world. #UNSupplyChainAwards #SustainableProcurement #UNProcurement #SupplyChain
