Two horror icons face off in this supernatural movie. Disfigured serial killer Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund), who attacks his victims in their dreams, has lost much of his power since citizens of his town have become less afraid of him. Enlisting the help of fellow violent murderer Jason Voorhees (Ken Kirzinger), Freddy orchestrates a new killing spree. However, when the hockey-mask-wearing psychopath won't stop chopping up Freddy's intended victims, the two ghouls start to battle each other.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

A gleefully brainless, blood-soaked clash of horror icons, Freddy vs. Jason ends up being more of a letdown than a showdown, with its fleeting guilty pleasures buried beneath bad dialogue and excessive gore.

Antonio A @Apepo 4 hrs ago Great movie. Must watch only for Freddy and Jasons lovers. See more Jacob W @SteelioTontos 6 hrs ago REALLY CRINGEY! See more Dead M @RT94778220 19 hrs ago This is my 2nd favorite Friday the 13th movie and my favorite nightmare on elm street movie i wish they kept making these colab movies See more Joel H @786Joel 2 days ago When I first saw Freddy vs. Jason, I was disappointed because I expected more from this crossover showdown between two horror icons. However, now that I’ve watched all of the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street movies, I can now see that this is one of the better films in both franchises. Not that it’s a great movie. The plot doesn’t make sense and the dialogue is terrible. I think the actors do a fine enough job (aside from Kelly Rowland), but the script they’ve memorized is awful and overexplains everything. But despite its glaring flaws, Freddy vs. Jason is an amusing clash of terror titans. See more Christopher L @RT46085477 4 days ago Good movie but I feel like they should’ve done the original ending for the movie but hey at least it’s a good film and I love both characters and did so great of the fighting/try to get more kills scenes See more Teddy B @RT90521672 5 days ago It's basically Jason and Freddy action figures being thrown around for two hours, in a fight of such strange odds and unfair advantages that it becomes ridiculous, but Englund, Kirzinger and director Yu are all having such fun with this witless concept that it starts to wear off on us as well. I love how it doesn't ignore the uglier parts of both franchises as well, fully owning the contrived final entries of both without any shame. Yu's energetic, comic-inspired visual eye helps immensely to add some style to this cheesy cross-over. See more Read all reviews
