Ambitious, impressively crafted, and above all unsettling, Midsommar further proves writer-director Ari Aster is a horror auteur to be reckoned with.

Midsommar is a waking nightmare and I mean that in the best possible way. Go to Full Review Claudia Puig FilmWeek (LAist) Oct 1, 2019
I was never, even for one second, feeling the length... I found it so unsettling and sinister. At moments it was a little uneven, but it's so watchable and gets under your skin in a really creepy way. Go to Full Review Lexi Amoriello Movie Recs by Lex Jul 10, 2026
A breakup may have been the focal point, but Aster’s film delivers an enthralling statement about sacrifice and the cyclical nature of life. Midsommar is a totally twisted fever dream even if the narrative leaves a lot to be desired. Go to Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Mar 5, 2026

A masterclass in how to make your audience really, really uncomfortable. Beautifully shot. Incredible art direction and production design. Florence Pugh delivers yet another brilliant performance in 2019 (it really is the Year of the Pugh). See this movie.
