ShimmerScreen®
Made in the USA and 5th generation family owned and operated
A Premier Architectural Design Element
ShimmerScreen® is produced by Ball Chain Manufacturing Co., Inc., the world's largest manufacturer of ball chain and related accessories. Founded in 1938 by Franz Taubner and his son Val in the garage behind their Bronx home, Ball Chain has grown to employ more than 95 people and now distributes the industry's highest quality ball chain across the globe.
Still family owned and operated, we proudly manufacture every foot of ball chain in the USA from our 70,000 square-foot facility in Mount Vernon, New York. As the only remaining company producing ball chain in America, we continue a decades-long tradition — including supplying the U.S. armed forces with chain for the iconic military dog tags worn by American soldiers.
Proudly made in the USA by a 5th generation family business, ShimmerScreen® combines decades of craftsmanship with fast turnaround on custom orders. We have the ability to ship within days. Our team is here to help bring your vision to life — contact us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Architectural Ball Chain Curtains for Every Space
ShimmerScreen® designs and fabricates architectural ball chain curtains and custom metal ball chain curtains for interiors and architecture of every scale. Our metal chain curtains and metal bead curtains work beautifully as decorative chain curtains, metal room dividers, and chain curtain partitions that define space without closing it off. Beyond dividers, the same handcrafted chain becomes metal chain chandeliers and metal chain light fixtures, shimmering decorative ceiling installations, and dramatic architectural screening for lobbies, atriums, and storefronts.
From commercial chain curtains and hospitality interior design features to refined metal chain shading that filters light and softens glare, every ShimmerScreen® installation is engineered to order in the finish, density, and color your project demands. Explore our applications above to see how these systems transform corporate, hospitality, residential, retail, and public spaces.
