Who Is Gen Alpha?

Gen Alpha is the generation born between 2010 and 2024. This generation is often called the “digital natives” thanks to technology being a big part of their upbringing. Social media is key to a Gen Alpha’s lifestyle, and it’s typically where they get all their information and communicate with others. Gen Alpha is packed with creators because of this, which has led to some imaginative vocabulary exclusive to the generation.

wikiHow asked a couple internet experts what makes Gen Alpha special:

  • Trend expert Jemaree Jay says, "I feel Gen Alpha [is] more online than Gen Z is...They have more platforms... That leads them to being more aware."[1]
  • Social media influencer Tobi Nwodo says that Gen Alpha is a little more laid-back and relaxed than other generations, taking an "It's not that deep" approach to most things.[2]
