Change the appearance of the Google Cloud console

Color themes let you customize your Google Cloud console viewing experience with light mode or dark mode. You can also set the console to automatically match your operating system's color scheme preference.

Select a color theme

If you have never manually selected a color theme for the Google Cloud console, the console automatically matches your operating system's color scheme preference.

To change the color theme for the console, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Cloud console.
  2. On the console toolbar, click Settings and utilities.
  3. In the menu, click Appearance.
  4. In the dialog that appears, select a color theme from the options: Light, Dark, or Same as device.

The page does not reload when you select a color theme, so your context and work in the console are preserved.
