#NJRoadEditor

The NJRoadEditor and ESRI ArcMap Python Add-In is a package of tools for editing the NJ Road Centerline Database which is maintained by the NJ Office of GIS and NJ Department of Transportation. NJRoadEditor consists of an extension and a toolbar with button tools, and is meant to be used in conjunction with the ESRI Editor toolbar. The NJRoadEditor extension and toolbar enables users to interact and edit the NJ Road Centerline database within an ArcMap edit session. For example, the user can start an edit session using the Editor toolbar and make a series of edits using the NJRoadEditor Add-In along with the Editor tools. Following the edits, the user can save the edits and close the edit session as they would normally do after an ArcMap edit session. The main difference between using the ESRI Editor tools and the NJRE Add-In is that the NJRE tools will make all of the necessary database transactions in the NJ Road Centerline Database.

Trusted users can replicate the NJ Road Centerline Database through a NJ OGIS geodata service REST endpoint. Once a database replica is in place, user may version their database and sync with OGIS on a regular basis for QA/QC.

##Compatibility

  • ESRI ArcGIS Desktop 10.4.1, 10.4.1 replica geodatabase or earlier
  • Python 2.7.8 (32-bit) + arcpy
  • Oracle 11g, 12c
  • SQL Server 2008R2 (untested on 2012 and 2014, but should work)

Coming Soon Version 3.2.1

##Current Version: 3.2

The latest stable version is NJRoadEditor_3.2. If you would like to download the .esriaddin file for quick installation (or full source code), Please go to the release page @ https://github.com/NJOGIS/NJRoadEditor/releases.

The main branch of this repository is used for development. You are free to use the development version of the Add-In, but we make no guarantee that it will function properly, so use at your own risk.

Release Notes

  • This release is not digitally signed. Digital signature will be updated soon.
  • This release can be used with replicated NJOGIS geodata services using a 10.4.1 ArcMap desktop client & 10.3.1 client geodatabase.
  • SHA-1 Checksum: 3F17FE6DFB63D58E0DE207F3EDFB504A199B4918
  • Data model diagram button tool launches PDF of data model.
  • Bug Fix: NewSegment, Merge, and Split tools were not updating the tool status config file to indicate that the tool was not present after a "cancel" of the tool. This was fixed by moving the tool indicator status write to the tool execute statement instead of the Roads_addin python file.

##Installation
