I have an idea for an OSE Experience application which acts as a catalogue of events and their related closures. Similar to a mobility guide but an app which will not need to be updated at any time, ideally completely automated based on the existing data, which we update with consistent reliable data approach, therefore, I expect this app could be entirely automated through the use of XB expressions and data views, or worst case scenario, Power BI.
I view this being most helpful for the Marathon, Spurs International Half Marathon, and virtually any race or 10K event which causes major closures citywide. This information is not highly effectively communicated across the city, and the paper maps simply are somewhat lacking in that they overwhelm you with information and callouts, where info could be more effectively conveyed via an application with a guided navigation through closures, times, details, etc.
In this idea each upcoming event would feature an auto-generated tab, that tab would filter to that event, and the tab would be auto-created based on addition to the closures data, the tab would be filtered by start date so that upcoming events show at the top of the tabs. Events whose end_date has passed would be filtered out and removed as a tab.
Basically a link you can share across the city, one-stop shop for referencing detailed closure times and special event information. Something sleek, modern, wow, helpful. I can see it, I just need to reach out and grasp it.
