Thanks for the heads-up. This change is entirely unintended and probably comes from myself not being entirely aware of how Python works anymore.
A fix is on the way that will bring it back, with the appropriate warning.
Thanks for the quick revert on the package. I have since released a new version that is no longer reliant on your implementation so we won't have issues going into v4. But currently all previous package versions (people do not update rapidly) still rely on this packages regex value (and I have only locked it to the major release) so any of those packages will pull in any minor or patch changes you make.
