Dinh Tuong is a display typeface drawn from the cast-steel stencil
lettering of 1960s Saigon shop and gate signs. Every part is built with
ruler and compass. The Vietnamese marks are cut from the same stroke
system as the letters rather than added on top, so Vietnamese text keeps
one even colour.

Thank you for submitting Dinh Tuong!

    Template Checklist Required

This issue bypassed the standard font submission issue template (.github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE/1_add-font.md). All new font submissions must include the pro-forma questions and requirements checklist so that the Google Fonts team can verify licensing, ownership, and onboarding readiness.

Please copy and paste the following questions and checklist into a new comment below, fill in the repository details, and check ([x]) all requirements that apply to confirm compliance:

    **Font Project Git Repo URL:**
    https://github.com/alexduonguiux-hub/DinhTuong-Typeface

**Super short description of the Font Family:**
Dinh Tuong is a display typeface drawn from the cast-steel stencil lettering of 1960s Saigon shop and gate signs.

    **Requirements:**

By opening this issue, I confirm the project meets the following requirements:

    - [ ] The entire font project is available in a Github repository (repo) and licensed under the [OFL](https://openfontlicense.org/open-font-license-official-text/)
    - [ ] I confirm that by 'entire font project', no "plus" or "pro" or other larger version of the project exists as a retail font anywhere
    - [ ] The source files are available in the repo
    - [ ] I am the sole copyright author of the entire project, or all other copyright authors have licensed their work to me under the OFL, and I commit to clearly disclosing if AI tools were used in the creation of this project.
    - [ ] There are no "Reserved Font Names" in the OFL license information, or in the project documentation of any known upstream projects. If there are RFNs, they are not used in whole or in part in this family name, or, I want to discuss how Google can work with my use of them.
    - [ ] The family name is unique according to [namecheck.fontdata.com](https://namecheck.fontdata.com/)
    - [ ] The name of the font family expected to appear on app menus must be very clearly communicated and definitive. It should not include any copyright holder's full names or acronyms.
    - [ ] The font supports at least the Google Fonts 'Latin Core' glyphset from [github.com/googlefonts/glyphsets](https://github.com/googlefonts/glyphsets) ([direct link](https://github.com/googlefonts/glyphsets/blob/main/data/results/txt/nice-names/GF_Latin_Core.txt))
    - [ ] The repo has the [Google Fonts preferred upstream repo structure](https://googlefonts.github.io/gf-guide/upstream.html)
    - [ ] I have read, agree with, and comply with, the full [Google Fonts contributing requirements](https://googlefonts.github.io/gf-guide/index#pre-production-getting-your-fonts-ready-for-gf)
    - [ ] I will maintain the repository and participate in the onboarding process (addressing, solving, and responding to issues, merging pull requests, etc)

Update: Dinh Tuong 1.003 is released and ready for onboarding.

    Release: https://github.com/alexduonguiux-hub/DinhTuong-Typeface/releases/tag/v1.003
    Repo (main): https://github.com/alexduonguiux-hub/DinhTuong-Typeface

    Changes since 1.001:

    • New acute, double acute, circumflex and tilde, drawn from the same stroke system as the letters.
    • All marks share one stroke weight.
    • S/s spine joins the bowls smoothly in every weight.
    • Kerning: figure pairs 67/76 match 69/96; capital pairs whose diagonals meet (KA, XA, AX, RA, VV, …) are set tighter.
    • Vertical metrics, glyph set (Vietnamese + GF Latin Core) and family name unchanged.

A variable version (wght 400–700) is ready on the branch variable-1.003 if you prefer to onboard the variable font.

Please use 1.003 instead of the earlier version. Thank you!
