Comments Policy

At Ready Steady Cut, we believe film and television are meant to spark debate, emotion, and analysis, and we love hearing your theories, reviews, and reactions.

To keep our community welcoming and enjoyable for everyone, we ask all readers to follow these guidelines before joining the discussion.

Etiquette & Respect

  • Film and TV opinions are subjective. You can disagree with a writer or fellow reader, but keep the debate centered on the content, not the person.
  • Personal attacks, harassment, bigotry, racism, sexism, and abusive language will result in an immediate ban.
  • If you are discussing key plot points, twists, or endings for recent releases, please include a clear [SPOILER WARNING] tag at the top of your comment.

Expectations & Spam

  • Comments containing link drops, marketing pitches, or unsolicited promotions will be removed immediately.
  • Keep comments relevant to the article, show, or film being discussed.
  • Never share personally identifiable information – yours or anyone else’s – in the comment section.

Moderation & Filters

  • We use Disqus’s automated moderation tools to flag and hold comments containing suspicious links, offensive language, or spam patterns.
  • Our editorial team actively reviews flagged comments daily to approve legitimate posts that were caught by overzealous filters.
  • Comments that violate our policy will be deleted, and repeat offenders will have their accounts blacklisted across the site.

A Word on Heated Debates

  • We know that fandoms exist, and a review score might make your blood boil. Feel free to challenge our takes and argue your case – just remember that our writers and fellow commenters are real people.

Report a Comment

  • If you spot a comment that violates these guidelines or notice your comment is stuck in the moderation queue, flag it directly through the Disqus interface or reach out to our team via our Contact page.
