Policy Center
Your resource for understanding the rules and policies across Snapchat.
Introduction
We want Snapchat to be a safe and positive experience for everyone who uses our platform or products. For this reason, we created rules and policies that explain the rights and responsibilities of all members of our community.
Community Guidelines
Our Community Guidelines help support our mission by striving to keep Snapchatters safe while still encouraging self-expression. Here, you’ll find our rules for what kind of behavior is and isn’t allowed on Snapchat, and how we enforce those rules.
Content Guidelines for Recommendation Eligibility
In addition to our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, content that reaches a larger audience must adhere to these additional guidelines in order to be eligible for algorithmic recommendation beyond the creator’s friends or followers.
Advertising Policies
Our Advertising Policies explain the rights and responsibilities of all businesses that choose to advertise on Snap. We expect advertisers to be honest about their products, services, and content, to be kind to our diverse community, and to never compromise Snapchatters’ privacy. All ads are subject to our review and approval.
Commercial Content Policy
This Commercial Content Policy applies to content on the Snap platform other than ads served by Snap, which is sponsored by, promotes, or advertises any brand, products, goods, or service (including your own brand or business), and content you have been incentivized to post by receiving monetary payment or free gifts.
Creator Monetization Policy
The Creator Monetization Policy explains our criteria for rewarding creators of consistently engaging, original and authentic content.
Safety Guidelines
In addition to adhering to the Guidelines expressed here, we use our review process to ensure that your integration complies with our Community Guidelines by reviewing the safety and privacy approaches of each applicant. Negative user feedback may also be taken into account in our review.
