Cities Delivering Climate Action That Works for Everyone – 81st Session of the UN General Assembly
Cities around the world are demonstrating what an inclusive and just transition looks like in practice, delivering climate action in urban areas that tackle inequalities and benefit communities with clean energy, safer transport, better housing, good green jobs, and economic opportunities.
In this session, city leaders will share inspiring examples of ambitious local action advancing SDGs. Examples include building the urban climate workforce of the future, ensuring urban data centres are sustainable and benefit local communities, creating new good green jobs, improving working conditions for informal waste workers, and ensuring frontline populations benefit from the phaseout of fossil fuels and rollout of renewable energy.
