The paper examines changes to the policy context since the in-depth review of statistics related to population ageing carried out in 2012, summarizes international activities related to the collection, production and dissemination of ageing-related statistics, assesses the extent to which the UNECE Recommendations on Ageing-related Statistics (2016) have been implemented in select member States, identifies persisting and new
gaps and challenges related to ageing-related statistics, and makes recommendations for further work in this area.
